Sri Maramma Temple

The Marramma temple situated in Chinnayana palaya, bengaluru brings over 150 years history. The idol was shirned at Chinnayana palya over 150 years ago and was being worshipped as a deity protecting the people of that locality. It was a small metallic diety located in an open place within a small vicinity. People started worshipping the deity.

As their prayers started bearing fruit, their belief on the goddess grew stronger and spread wider. Shri Marramma was believed to be the protector and universal mother for the people in the area. Soon in 1994, the people having realised the importance of the deity, decided to lay a temple and bring another life to the deity. Progressing with the work, in 1996, the Shree Kshetram was set up as a temple. This is an abode where Goddess Amman, “The Mother God” is worshiped. Lord Vinayaka and Lord Subramanya being the two sons of the Amman, are being statued on either sides of the goddess. In addition to it, a new navagraha dieties with lot of Naga dieties were placed by the people. The devotees started offering special Pooja when their prayers started being fruits. As this importance of the deity spread, thousands of people visit the temple to find solace from their problems, difficulties, pain, to dedicate their religious vows. The charismatic deity exhibits a lot of positivity that brings in devotees with pain and difficulities to just witness her return back with a level of satisfaction forgetful of their pain. The experience of visiting the temple and having a glimpse of the goddess leaves the devotees immensely satisfied, happy and rejuvenated. Devotees from across places visit the temple to pay obeisance to the Goddess offer their prayers and seek blessings. Abhishekam is performed to deities to absolve the devotee of his sins and take him closer to the divine. Ego, jealousy, and pride are surrendered at the feet of the divine and the atma is opened for spiritual advancement. Every morning the abhishekam is done with the different dravyas where each dravya hold a unique importance.

People started worshipping the Lord Hanuman and offering Pooja they were aware of during the olden days. In the year 1996 the people of the town having realised the importance of lord hanuman decided to lay a temple and bring in a stone statue of the deity. Progressing with the work in the year 1998, the shree kshetram was set up as a temple. This is an abode where Lord Hanuman, ‘ The God of Strength’ , is worshiped. Lord Hanuman is surrounded by the dasavatars, the avatars of Lord Vishnu. Lord Narashima and Lord Narayana are statued o the left side of Lord Hanuman. Lord Krishna, Lord Venkateshwara are being statued on the right side of the Lord Hanuman. As this importance of the lord spread, thousands of people visit the temple to find solace from their problems, difficulties, pain, to dedicate their religious vows.
